Animal Welfare Policy

Parrot4Sale is committed to promoting responsible and lawful trade of parrots and exotic birds. Because the platform involves live animals, we expect users to act with care, transparency, and respect for animal welfare and applicable laws.

1

Legal Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their activities comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale, ownership, and transport of birds.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • National and local animal welfare legislation
  • Regulations concerning exotic or protected species
  • Import, export, and transport requirements

Parrot4Sale does not verify legal compliance of individual listings.

2

Trade in Exotic and Protected Species

Some bird species are subject to additional legal restrictions.

Users must ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including:

  • Licensing or permit requirements
  • Documentation of legal origin
  • Restrictions on commercial trade

Listings involving protected or restricted species may be removed if required documentation is missing or unclear.

3

CITES Regulations

Certain species are regulated under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

If a listed bird falls under CITES:

  • The seller is responsible for holding valid CITES documentation
  • Buyers are responsible for ensuring legal ownership and transfer
  • Any required permits must be obtained before sale or transport

Parrot4Sale does not validate CITES documents but may request clarification if concerns are raised.

4

Age and Sale of Birds

Users must comply with applicable laws and ethical standards regarding the age at which birds may be sold.

In general:

  • Birds must be of legal age for sale
  • Selling unweaned chicks or dependent juveniles is discouraged or prohibited in many jurisdictions

Listings that indicate sale of birds below legal or ethical standards may be removed.

5

Breeding and Sale of Chicks

The sale of chicks must follow responsible breeding practices.

Users should not:

  • Offer birds that are not independent or self-feeding
  • Misrepresent the age or development stage of a bird
  • Encourage practices that compromise animal welfare

Parrot4Sale reserves the right to remove listings that raise serious welfare concerns.

6

Transport and Handling

Transport of live birds must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and welfare standards.

This includes:

  • Suitable transport containers
  • Adequate ventilation, temperature control, and protection
  • Minimizing stress and risk of injury

All transport arrangements are the responsibility of the users involved.

7

Reporting Welfare Concerns

If you believe a listing or user activity violates animal welfare standards, you may report it through the platform or by contacting support.

Reports should include:

  • Clear description of the concern
  • Relevant listing or user information
  • Screenshots or documentation if available

Parrot4Sale may review reports and take action, including listing removal or account suspension.

8

Platform Limitations

Parrot4Sale is a marketplace platform, not an enforcement authority.

We do not:

  • Inspect animals
  • Verify breeding conditions
  • Supervise transport or handover
  • Guarantee welfare outcomes

Responsibility for animal welfare rests with the users involved.
